I thought it was a pretty interesting skim-read, although it definitely showed the lack of an editor all throughout, from logical flow to punctuation/typos/errors of fact. (Phil does not have a brother. And so on.) And yeah, didn't need the Jerry bio filler.

But one good thing about the new kindle-it-yourself world is that people can publish something that, while it might have been improved by an editor, also might not have been published at all. And while there's no editor to help it in some ways (flow, maybe pushing him to get into some areas that he just started to touch on, etc), there's also no editor to keep it from being an honest take on things as the writer sees it. (Or to make it more sensational. Although he certainly had no problem slamming people he felt needed slamming. Particularly the crew. Just in case anyone thought they were fuzzy wuzzies. Still, it didn't seem mean-spirited -- just telling things like he saw it.)

Also, while I'm in the little niche that will go for how-they-made-the-GD-sausage stories, I'm guessing it would have been hard to convince a big publisher there'd be enough interest to put this out as a hardcover book for Barnes and Noble etc.
